Nationwide and citywide individuals and organisations provide active support for Da Nang amid Covid-19 crisis
On Monday afternoon, the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee received approximately 2.4 billion VND in donations from individuals, businesses and organisations nationwide to help the city in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
In detail, the Da Nang Port donated one billion VND, the Da Nang Rubber Company one billion VND, the A Chau Architecture and Trading Co. Ltd., 200 million VND, the Petrol Company Zone 5 100 million VND, and the Da Nang Vocational Training Junior College 50 million VND.
Chairman of the municipal Fatherland Front Committee Dang Thi Kim Lien thanked the donors for their generosity, active support to help Da Nang to tackle the pandemic.
In addition to cash donations, many businesses and organisations citywide are joining in their city's fight against the coronavirus with many their practical and meaningful activities.
In particular, the Women's Union in Hai Chau District has offered a total of 120 late-night and dawn meals to security personnel who are staffing at blockaded areas nearby the 3 hospitals at 10pm and 2am every day.
The municipal Department of Natural Resources and the Environment has given gifts, valued at one million VND each, and milk boxes, to 100 sanitation workers in difficult circumstances.
On Monday afternoon, the Da Nang Labour Federation donated 1,000 protective suits to the Cam Le District-based Medical Centre.
Also on the same day, representatives from the Da Nang Youth Union, the Da Nang branch of the Vietnamese Students' Association, the Da Nang Pickup Truck Club, and the Cat Tuong Pagoda provided essential supplies, totalling 40 million VND, to 270 students living at a hall of residence for students on the eastern side of the city.
