The Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade has issued guidance on Covid-19 prevention and control in shopping centres, supermarkets, traditional markets and convenience stores in a bid to adapt to the new normal in the light of Covid-19 outbreak.

As for traditional markets, all market stallholders and market-goers, plus workforce staffing the traditional markets must ensure good practices of preventive measures by wearing face coverings, using sanitizer gel, maintaining a one metre distance from others, and undergoing compulsory body temperature measurements.

During body temperature screening, anyone who shows Covid-19 infection symptoms (cough, fever and shortness of breath) upon arrival at the market will be separated from others right away, and immediately be reported to local health authorities for further monitoring.

Heed will be paid to ensuring that trash bins with lids, clean water, soap bars and hand sanitizer gel are always available in traditional markets.

All traditional markets are required to be cleaned up and sterilised with Cloramin B disinfectant chemical at least once a week.

Market stallholders will sign commitments with the management boards of traditional markets to strictly obey Covid-19 prevention and control measures, as well as ensure food safety and hygiene.

At shopping centres and supermarkets, specialised eating and drinking areas should take extra precautions to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission for their customers and staff.

Importance will be attached to separating customers with plastic dividers, installing handwashing sinks, and providing enough soap and alcohol-based hand sanitizer for customers.

Meanwhile, service providers are asked to provide surgical face masks for their staff, and encourage their staff to complete their daily health declaration electronically and install the Bluezone app on their smartphones.
