No new Covid-19 infections recorded on 18 September morning

Viet Nam recorded no new Covid-19 cases on Friday morning, with the tally standing at 1066, the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control reported on 18 September morning.

Earlier, Viet Nam recorded three imported case of Covid-19 on Thursday evening.

The three new patients arrived in Noi Bai International Airport in Ha Noi on a flight from Uzbekistan on 2 September and were quarantined immediately after arrival. They were negative for SARS-CoV-2 in the first test taken on3 and 4  September, but the result of their second tests on 15 and 16 September turned positive.

On September 17, four more patients were declared to have recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 940. The fatalities remain at 35.

Among patients under treatment, 14 have tested negative once, seven negative twice and 19 negative thrice.

As many as 31,319 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or entered Viet Nam from pandemic-hit regions are being quarantined nationwide, including 423 in hospitals, 15,860 in concentrated quarantine establishments and 15,036 at home.
