In order to overcome the locally-faced existing environmental problems and continue to realise the city’s sustainable development goals, the project is expected to feature four groups of criteria with a combined total of 29 parameters.

Simply put, the groups of criteria are in terms of pollution prevention, environmental improvement, natural conservation, and the capacity of raising public awareness of environmental protection.

Of the parameters, there are some noteworthy ones. In more details, the percentage of industrial establishments applying cleaner production solutions in the city’s total figure will reach 20% by 2025 and 50% by 2030.

There will be one industrial park (IP) meeting the standards of an eco-IP by 2025, and this figure will go up to three by 2030.

The proportional area of pavements for pedestrians and lanes exclusively for cyclists or other environmentally- friendly vehicles will reach 1% by 2025 and 2% by 2030.

The urban wastewater treatment rate will reach 83.5% by 2025 and 95% by 2030.

The proportion of production facilities treating wastes in accordance with the national laws in the city’s totals will reach 90% by 2025 and 100% by 2030. Also, 100% of polluted hotspots will be resolved across the city.

In addition, 75% of the city’s mining areas will have environmental rehabilitation conducted there in accordance with the national laws after the completion of mineral mining activities in 2025 and 95% by 2030.

The urban green space per capita will stand at 7.5m2 / person by 2025 and 8m2 / person by 2030.

The rate of house roofs and balconies covered with trees in the total areas will reach 2% by 2025.

The rate of local residents showing their environmental satisfaction will reach 70% by 2025 and more than 90% by 2030.

Da Nang is now on track of controlling the environmental pollution by 2025, setting up the environmental management systems, and striving to meet the criteria for ecological cities by 2030, as well as developing Da Nang into an ecological city meeting the regional and international criteria for ecological city by 2045.

Importance should be attached to appealing for the efficient public use of natural resources, as well as applying high-tech solutions into the garbage classification at the source, the reduction of disposable plastic waste, and the saving of water and electricity.

Under the Politburo-adopted Resolution No 43-NQ/TW regarding the Da Nang’s development to 2030 with a vision to 2045 dated 24 January, 2016, the project to positively convert Da Nang into an environmentally –friendly city is totally match the city’s sustainable development goals towards becoming ecological urban site.
