Over 8.5 billion VND in financial support for those in need

The Da Nang Red Cross Society, on 22 November, launched the ‘Tet 2021 for the Poor and Victims of Agent Orange’ campaign in the city to mark the 74th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam Red Cross Society (23 November).

Under the campaign, the Da Nang Red Cross Society and its chapters across Da Nang will give a combined total of 14,000 Tet gifts, worth between 300,000 VND and 500,000 VND each, to the poor, social policy families, victims of Agent Orange, natural disaster-affected households, and those who need help.

Also at the event, the Da Nang Red Cross Society gave cash donations of 2 million VND each to 156 poor studious pupils in the city.

Since early 2019, the Da Nang Red Cross Society and its chapters across the city have raised more than 8.5 billion VND from generous philanthropists to help 2,555 people who need help.

Most recently, the agency supported the Viet Nam Lotteria Co., Ltd-donated rice to 500 families adversely affected by recent natural disasters in Que Tho and Thang Phuoc communes, Hiep Duc District, Quang Nam Province. Each household received between 10 and 20 kilograms of rice.
