This 1,000-bed hospital was set up with a rush in the site of Hai Chau District-based namesake sport arena in early August amid a growing public fears over possible Covid-19 patient overload facing blockaded hospitals across Da Nang which became coronavirus epicenter at that time.
Actually, the Tien Son field hospital was considered to be ‘spare’, in case of unexpected infection, hike for the Hoa Vang Field Hospital and the Lung Hospital, both of which received Covid-19 patients reported across the city after Da Nang braced for a second wave of the pandemic outbreak in late July.
Encouragingly, no virus carriers were admitted to the Tien Son field hospital since its debut in the light of community transmissions slowing down in the city thanks to its effective prevention measures.
Since early September, no locally-infected cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Da Nang.
Meanwhile, as of Monday, Viet Nam, at large, had been free of community transmission for 75 straight days.
