A southward - moving intensifying cold spell is on course of blanketing many parts of the north and mid-central Viet Nam, including Da Nang, the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting gave the warning in its latest bulletin.

From Tuesday, Da Nang and elsewhere in Central Viet Nam will brace for some scattered showers and wind levels 2,3 reported on their parts.

From tomorrow, Tuesday, a chill is expected to be felt mainly at night and during early mornings in Da Nang and its neighbours namely Quang Nam and Quang Ngai.

In detail, average lows are projected to fall to 18 - 20 degrees Celsius in many parts of the three localities.

Meanwhile, a vast stretch from Quang Binh to Thua Thien-Hue is projected to suffer chiller weather as the mercury plummet to as low as 15 – 17 degrees Celsius, and even going down to under 15 degrees Celsius in their mountainous areas.

Besides, the regional forecasters also made a projection on winds levels 4,5 and high sea waves to be seen off the coast of the mid-central localities.

This unpleasant chilly weather pattern is anticipated to linger into the coming days in the regional localities.

This type of weather is not abnormal as the region enters the winter season. It is recommended that the public across Da Nang dress appropriately during the day and night as the range of temperatures can be significant.

Meanwhile, farmers in mountainous areas usually apply measures to keep their cattle and poultry warm, especially during the evening.
