Scholarships, worth 2 million VND each, jointly funded by the Da Nang Department of Education and Training and the municipal Journalists’ Association on Monday were granted to 202 pupils from kindergarten to high school levels across Da Nang. This much-hailed move aimed to support the needy pupils who have been severely affected by the COVID-19 crisis and natural disasters.

In her remarks at the scholarship awards ceremony, Director of Da Nang Department of Education and Training Le Thi Bich Thuan pointed out to the fact that the coronavirus outbreak and natural disasters-forced school closures have had negative impact on local pupils’ learning activities during the 2019 - 2020 academic year. Such scholarships, in hopefully, will help the recipients overcome their current difficulties and continue pursuing their academic dreams in very tough times.

Also on the same day, Da Nang Department of Education and Training launched the ‘Spring for You’ campaign to appeal for donations from generous philanthropists citywide in order to help needy pupils and teachers celebrate warm and happy Tet holiday.
