The money raised by the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee was spent on building 91 new houses and to repairing 228 downgraded houses for needy people at a total cost of 9.160 billion VND. In addition, scholarships, worth 2.093 billion VND, were given to 1,485 poor school pupils, whilst 133 poor families were provided with means of livelihood valued at 734.7 million VND.  Also, 568.9 million VND were donated to 152 poor patients across the city.

Also last year, the Covid-19 pandemic caused tens of thousands of people of working age to either lose their jobs or have their working hours reduced, thereby pushing them into extreme poverty.

In its effort to support people who are struggling to pay because they have lost income due to COVID-19, the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee and its chapters across the city became actively involved in raising funds for the needy from generous philanthropists at both home and overseas.

Most noticeably, Da Nang government provided close to 250 billion VND of funding to support local people who are struggling to afford food and other essentials due to COVID-19. The beneficiaries included those who made great contributions to the nation's revolutionary cause, and are receiving monthly social allowances and poor families.
