A combined total of nearly 12 billion VND in funding from Da Nang government and private businesses will be used on both floral displays and lighting decorations across Da Nang in a bid to create joyful and boisterous atmosphere during the Tet Festival which will begin on 12 February.

As compared to recent years, this year’s decorations are expected to be conducted in a more economical manner but they will not be less eye-catching and impressive than those installed previously, showcasing harmonious combination of natural, traditional, and modern elements.

Major downtown streets will be festooned with strings of illuminative lights and ornamental decorations dangling between the stately trees that line the thoroughfare casting a soft Tet holiday glow.

With regard for floral displays, a large number of colourful flower towers and pots will be placed at 15 locations.

Included are sections of the Bach Dang Street riverside promenade opposite Da Nang Administrative Centre, the intersections of Nguyen Huu Tho - Duy Tan - Le Dinh Ly, the East Sea Park, a park on the corner of the Hung Vuong, Yen Bai and Nguyen Thai Hoc streets, a pavement section in front of 12 Tran Phu, and squares northwest, southwest and northwest of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge respectively, the APEC Park, and an area at the western end of the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge.

In addition to the aforementioned locations, the Sun Group has voluntarily been in charge of making floral decorations and maintaining regular care at the corner of the Tran Phu and Ly Tu Trong streets.

As the 2021 Lunar New Year ushers in the Year of the Buffalo, some of the flower spots will be enlivened with flower baskets and floral decorations featuring the image of lovely zodiacal animal.

Flowers chosen to decorate the aforementioned venues are completely suited to Da Nang's climatic conditions for the sake of their best throughout the forthcoming Tet festival.

As for lighting decorations, chains of eye-catching decorative lights will take shape at 5 designated downtown places, generating wonderful lighting effects at night.

Amongst them are locations in front of the T-bridge on Bach Dang street, a path to Dien Hai Citadel, the fence surrounding the Museum of Cham Sculpture, the intersections of Nguyen Huu Tho - Duy Tan, and Nguyen Huu Tho - Xo Viet Nghe Tinh, the busy sections of such big streets as Tran Phu, Xo Viet Nghe Tinh, Pham Van Dong, Vo Van Kiet, Vo Nguyen Giap, Nguyen Van Thoai, Le Duc Tho and Hoang Sa.

According to Mr Nguyen Hong Thanh, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Industrial and Civil Engineering Construction and Investment Projects, contractors have been selected for the creation of the 15 above-mentioned floral decoration positions.

Meanwhile, the lighting decorations will be implemented by the Da Nang Public Lighting Joint Stock Company.

In a similar vein, the district and ward authorities have taken the initiative to carry out Tet floral displays and lighting decorations in a prompt, economical yet effective manner.

The creation of highly impressive floral decorations along the Bach Dang spring flower street, along the west bank of the Han River, is progressing well.

This inviting place is scheduled to open to the public on 9 February and close on 21 February, aiming to enthrall local inhabitants and visitors at the forthcoming Tet festival.
