A plane carrying 343 Vietnamese nationals landed in Da Nang at 2.30pm on 23 January after flying from Taiwan (China).

The Vietnam Airlines flight arrived at the Da Nang International Airport, and all passengers were taken to designated facilities where they are placed in isolation for 14 days.

Vietnamese returnees were those who are under 18, seniors, ill persons, and students who completed their courses but lacked accommodation due to dormitory closures, and others with extremely difficult circumstances.

Upon landing in Da Nang, all passengers and crew members received medical check-ups, and they were sent to the Dong Nghe Training Centre in Hoa Vang District's Hoa Khuong Commune and the Centre for Training National Defense and Security Knowledge in Lien Chieu District for the mandatory quarantine in line with Viet Nam's regulations.

These  returnees will have their swab and blood serum samples taken for coronavirus testing soon.

In-flight safety and preventive measures against the Covid-19 pandemic were rigorously enforced to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the disease. All of the passengers had their health checked before boarding, wore face masks throughout the flight and submitted their health declarations.

Also, the aircraft, the entire passenger cabin, cockpit and cargo storage area were disinfected after landing.
