The truck accident occurred at around 9pm on Saturday on the Son Tra Peninsula.

A 34-year-old man was behind the wheel of the pickup truck with registration plate of 43C-248.83, carrying his friend, a 30-year-old woman, when he stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake as turning his truck around, causing the vehicle to plunge off a cliff in complete darkness. Fortunately, the two victims trapped in the car only suffered minor injuries.

Three specialised engines, plus dozens of rescuers, from the Da Nang Police Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue quickly arrived at the scene after receiving the SOS message from the victims.

After more than 2 hours of efforts, the victims were safely rescued whilst their pickup truck was pulled from the cliff.
