The Da Nang Department of Justice has just issued an official dispatch which stipulates administrative fines of up to 3 million VND on those who donot wear masks in public places across the city.

The regulation on stiffer fines showcases the municipal authorities’ great efforts in beefing up measures to prevent COVID-19 resurgence in Da Nang, amid more new locally transmitted coronavirus infections being confirmed in some northern Vietnamese localities over recent days.

Fines ranging from 1 to 3 million VND are imposed for failure to take personal protection measures, depending on violation levels. The penalty is applicable to violators getting involved in fighting against COVID-19, and those who are at a high risk of catching the deadly virus.

Functional local bodies will continue to patrol the city and penalise those who flout the regulations.
