Da Nang limits organisation of unnecessary events and festivals over COVID-19 fears
The Da Nang general public is now highly commended to limit the organisation of unnecessary large gatherings, events and festivals, especially before and during Tet, and enjoy this special occasion right in the city instead of traveling to other localities nationwide amid the current complicated COVID-19 crisis in some Vietnamese localities.
The aforementioned recommendations are amongst the latest coronavirus prevention and control measures released by the municipal authorities on Friday.
Besides, the public across Da Nang in the city must strictly follow the Health Ministry-mandated 5K (in Vietnamese) motto: namely ‘Khau trang’ (Face mask) – ‘Khu khuan’ (Disinfection) – ‘Khoang cach’ ‘Distance’ - ‘Khong tu tap’ (No gatherings) – ‘Khai bao y te’ (Health Declaration) in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus.
Also importantly, it is a must-do for functional local bodies to increasingly inspect the practice of pandemic prevention measures in workplaces, residential areas, and such places facing a high risk of coronavirus infections as supermarkets, railway stations, airports, schools, hospitals, factories.
If necessary, event’s organisers must ensure safety measures against COVID-19 in line with Viet Nam's national government-mandated pandemic prevention and control measures. Accordingly, visitors are required to wear face masks, keep safe distance with others to prevent the spread of the deadly virus, and make heath declarations.
More checkpoints will be set up at Da Nang’s major entry/exit gates, the airport, seaports, the railway station, bus stations to promptly detect arrivals from some northern localities which are Viet Nam’s coronavirus hotspots for the time being for appropriate medical intervention measures if needed.
Due to a slack in monitoring transmission risk of persons after they left 14-day concentrated quarantine. For that reason, the quarantine duration is extended to 21 days.
The compulsory 21-day quarantine period at concentrated quarantine establishments across the city is imposed on F1 persons, along with those from Chi Linh Town of Hai Duong Province, the epicenter of Viet Nam's new Covid-19 outbreak that began last week, and the Quang Ninh Province-based Van Don International Airport, and anyone who travelled to / from places which are put under lockdown across the country.
Meanwhile, F2 persons, along with those who left Hai Duong (except for Chi Linh Town) and Quang Ninh (except for Van Don International Airport) for Da Nang, and visited some Vietnamese localities where locally transmitted cases have been confirmed are required to proactively limit their contact with others, and self-isolate for 21 days at their place of residence upon arrival in Da Nang,
All of the quarantined people must have their samples taken for coronavirus testing for 3 times.
In detail, the first test is taken on the day of discovery, the second on the 14th day and the third on the 21st day since contact with the direct source of transmission.
