As observed by the DA NANG Today reporters on Tuesday, the visitor to such crowded public places as parks, supermarkets, traditional markets and bus stations donned face masks.
Besides, free bottles of alcohol-based hand sanitizer are available at the entrances to many traditional markets and supermarkets in the downtown city. All the staff and customers are asked to wash their hands regularly, wear face coverings and maintain a safe distance from others.
In a similar vein, those who are involved in the creation of highly impressive floral decorations along the Bach Dang spring flower street, along the west bank of the Han River also wear masks regularly at work.
Likewise, at the Tet flower market located on 2 September Street, the largest of its kind in the city, both sellers and buyers strictly complied with the regulations on wearing masks.
Recently, the Da Nang government has just issued an official dispatch which stipulates administrative fines of up to 3 million VND on those who donot wear masks in public places across the city.
Fines ranging from 1 to 3 million VND are imposed for failure to take personal protection measures, depending on violation levels. The fines are 10 times higher than the previous ones, which were only 100,000VND - 300,000VND.
The penalty is applicable to violators getting involved in fighting against COVID-19, and those who are at a high risk of catching the deadly virus.
The regulation on stiffer fines showcases the municipal authorities’ great efforts in beefing up measures to prevent COVID-19 resurgence in Da Nang, amid more new locally transmitted coronavirus infections being confirmed in some northern Vietnamese localities over recent days.
