“In these days leading up to Lunar New Year 2021, especially from 4 - 11 February, sanitation workers will have to work three to five times harder than normal in an effort to make sure all Da Nang streets are completely clean on Lunar New Year’s Eve and the first day of the Lunar New Year” Director of the Environmental Factory in Hoa Vang District Le Van Nhat remarked.

Mr Nguyen Phuoc Nhien, Director of the Son Tra District-based Environmental Factory, remarked more trash bins have been placed across the district. In addition, the majority of the garbage collected in the district will be taken to the two biggest transfer stations on My Khe 3 and Ho Han Thuong streets in a bid to speed up the transportation of garbage to the Khanh Son landfill site in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District.

In order to handle the increased amount of waste against normal days and ensure environmental sanitation nearby the Khanh Son landfill before, during and after Tet, the Waste Management and Treatment Factory under the management of the municipal Urban Environment JSC has increased the frequency of deodorant sprays to 6 times per day from 4 times as normal days in recent days, and to 12 times on the 29th and 30th days of the 12th lunar month.

On 10 and 11 February, staff of the Waste Management and Treatment Factory will be sent to clean up coastal areas, along the both banks of the Han River, and main roads, as well as quickly treat daily-collected domestic waste, in a bid to ensure environmental sanitation at trash collection points, and prevent bad smells from these areas.

Apart from full deployment of sanitation workers, the factory has added more 40 dump trucks and 6 excavators, set up 9 temporary waste transfer stations across the city so as to increase the capacity of collecting and transporting trash in these days leading up to Tet.
