The Da Nang Department of Transportation has asked the Da Nang Automobile Transport Association, and road transport service providers across the city, along with the Management Board of the Da Nang inter-provincial coach station, to accelerate the installation of surveillance cameras in road transport vehicles in line with Viet Nam's national government's regulations.

All road transport vehicles, including container trucks, semi-trailer trucks, and over 9-seater tourist coaches, in Da Nang will have surveillance cameras installed before early July.

The installation of surveillance cameras in road transport vehicles aims to ensure the safety and effective management of passengers, drivers, assistant drivers and tour guides, as well as to enhance the quality of services, and build brand names for Da Nang transport service providers.

During the installation of surveillance cameras on such vehicles, special attention will be paid to ensuring that the position and the number of installed cameras must record all images of drivers and passengers in cabin.

Also heed will be paid to strictly complying with the camera manufacturers' instructions, as well as preventing short circuits on vehicles.

Starting from early July, administrative fines will be officially imposed on vehicles which do not have surveillance cameras installed, or do not meet Da Nang’s requirements about the camera installation.
