The Ministry of Public Security has launched its anti-drink and drug driving campaign across Viet Nam, with police officers nationwide working proactively to target those flouting the law.
The eight month-long campaign, which runs from 15 March to 31 December, 2021, runs in conjunction with a nationwide operation led by Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security. The campaign aims to remove the worst offenders from roads to reduce the unacceptable number of road deaths to zero.
Da Nang traffic police are being out across the city working proactively to target those flouting the law. They are swarming main streets to carry out random vehicle stops in a bid to detect and deal with alcohol and drug-related violations by road users.
On a section of 2 September Street (opposite the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture), many motorcyclists had their alcohol level detected exceeding the maximum prescribed legal drink drive limit by police officers.
