The enforcement work will be divided into 2 stages. Coercive measures will be taken to demolish the illegally-built works from the 2nd to 5th storeys at the apartment block between 6 April and 30 June.
In addition, unlicensed construction items on the 35th, 41st and 42nd storeys, plus 2 technical storeys, will be stripped down by relevant local agencies from 1 July - 30 September.
The Ngu Hanh Son District authorities have asked the municipal Department of Information and Communications, the Da Nang Power Company and the Da Nang Water Supply JSC to shut off their services at soon-to-be-demolished construction works starting from 21 March.
According to the construction licence granted by the Da Nang administration in 2016, the complex, developed by the Dien Bien Construction Company No 1, has 42 storeys and 2 basements, with apartments allowed to be constructed from the 6th storey.
The 2nd to 5th storeys in the apartment block are designated for a parking area, a kindergarten, and some public areas. However, during construction process, the company unilaterally adjusted the original design of the complex to turn these 4 storeys into a total of 104 apartments for sale.
Also, the apartment block’s 35th storey is designed for a shelter according to the construction licence, but 8 apartments have been built there and they have been put into use.
As for other detected violations, on the 41st and 42nd storeys, the total permitted area for each storey is only 313m2. However, a total of 26 apartments covering a total area of 4.393m2 have been built and put into use on each storey.
