Da Nang fishermen at danger off Quang Ngai Province coast rescued
Three fishermen from Da Nang have been rescued off the coast of neighbouring Quang Ngai Province after their boat encountered unexpected dangerous incident at sea.
At around 10:30 am on Wednesday, the fishing boat DN 90412 TS owned by Mr. Truong Quynh Thu residing in Lien Chieu District, Da Nang, suddenly took on water due to the negative impact of the bad weather at sea, and water was steadily rising in the engine-room bilges whilst it was operating at about 46 nautical miles away from the Ly Son Island off Quang Ngai Province.
The incident caused the boat to be on the verge of sinking, which force the captain to make a distress call to functional bodies for urgent assistance.
Fortunately, at that time, the KN302 ship, which belongs to the Fisheries Surveillance Team No 3, operating about 47 nautical miles away from the Ly Son Island, received the SOS message from the distressed boat, and managed to embark upon its rescue missions.
Regardless facing high waves and strong winds of levels 5 – 6, the ship reached the distressed ship about 30 minutes later. The rescuers, in a prompt fashion, guided the distressed fishermen to implement anti-sinking measures, and ensure the safety of their boat and their properties onboard.
Later, by 6:30pm, technical problems of the distressed fishing boat had been basically dealt with. All the crewmembers were safely brought back to the Da Nang mainland, and all of them are mentally and physically stable.
