Representatives from the Da Nang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, on Thursday, gave 150 million VND in financial assistance from the city budget to Binh Dinh fishermen whose fishing vessels were severely damaged by fire at Da Nang-based Tho Quang Fishing Wharf on 14 February. Each fishing vessel received 50 million VND in financial aid.

It was reported that, at around 5.30am on 14 February morning (the 3^rd day of the 1^st lunar new year), three fishing boats from Binh Dinh Province caught fire whilst they were anchoring at the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf. Fortunately, there was nobody on board at the time.

Witnesses said that they had tried to extinguish the fire whilst calling fire-fighters to control the blaze.

Seven fire engines, 5 canoes and over 200 firefighters were immediately sent to the scene after receiving a fire report from the witnesses. Thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters, the blaze was completely extinguished within two hours, but all the fishing boats were completely destroyed. 

It was thought that burning incense being left unattended on board had caused the incident.
