Mid-central region sees return of wet, cold weather; warning against strong winds at sea issued
Over the coming days, localities in mid-central region, including Da Nang, is likely to continue seeing the wet and a bit cold weather, along with northwest breezes of levels 3-4 offshore, and level 3 in inland areas.
These weather patterns are now being triggered considerably by the impacts of cold spell, which recently started raging in mountainous northern provinces.
A vast stretch from Quang Binh to Thua Thien-Hue provinces is suffering in a cold weather with the mercury plummeting considerably to as low as 16 - 18 degrees Celsius, even chiller at 14 - 16 degrees Celsius in their mountainous areas.
Localities from Da Nang to Quang Ngai are bracing for a bit higher mercury which is hovering at the lowest as 20 - 22 degrees Celsius, and even colder in their high-altitude spots.
In particular, there is the possibility of level 6 - 7 gale winds, rough seas and sea waves from 1.5 – 3 m high in waters off central regional areas from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai, including Da Nang.
Waters off Viet Nam's Hoang Sa (Paracel) Archipelago are also suffering strong northeast winds at levels 6 - 7, even with a gust of levels 8 - 9, sea waves from 2 - 4m high.
All Vietnamese fishing boats operating at sea have been well informed of the harsh weather conditions to avoid any unexpected incidents at sea.
Over a few coming days, people in Da Nang are expected to experience comfortably cooling weather, but there will be cloudy, some light scattered shower accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in some of its parts.
Waters off Da Nang is predicted to brace for northeast winds at level 6, with a gust of level 7, rough sea and sea waves from 1.5 – 1.5m high.
