Over 390 Vietnamese passengers were flown home from Myanmar on Thursday on two flights.

Arranged by Vietnamese and Myanmar agencies, Vietnam Airlines-operated flights VN5952 and VN5956 left Myanmar's Yangon International Airport at 12.30pm and 1.30pm (local time) on 4 March respectively and  touched down at Da Nang International Airport on the same day.

Amid the complicated developments of the pandemic in both Viet Nam and Myanmar, the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar sent officials to the Yangon International Airport to assist Vietnamese citizens to complete necessary procedures for boarding the flights.

In-flight safety and preventive measures against the Covid-19 pandemic were rigorously enforced to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the virus. All of Vietnamese passengers had their health checked before boarding, wore face masks throughout the flight, and submitted their health declarations.

All passengers and crew members received medical check-ups, and they were sent to the Centre for Training National Defense and Security Knowledge under the management of the Da Nang-based Military High Command, located in Da Nang’s Lien Chieu District, and a designated site in Quang Nam Province, for the mandatory 14-day quarantine following Viet Nam's national regulations after entering Da Nang. They will have their swab and blood serum samples taken for coronavirus testing soon.

Also, the aircraft, the entire passenger cabin, cockpit and cargo storage area were disinfected after landing.
