Da Nang eyes more public and private investment attraction to develop more new tourism products
Da Nang, in the time ahead, will attach importance to attract both public and private investments to create more attractive new tourism products in a bid to tempt domestic travellers back, in tandem with preparing for welcoming foreigners once Viet Nam opens its borders and resumes all international flights following successful containment of the global COVID-19 pandemic in the near future.

The statement was made by Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang at a seminar on Thursday which featured discussions about more effective solutions that must be taken as soon as possible to drive the recovery of Da Nang tourism industry this year.
The city Party chief said the city leaders plan to work with reputable domestic and foreign investors to conduct the drastic refurbishment of the iconic Han River’s image.
In the coming time, a series of sparkling and colourful decorative arts lighting shows will take shape, featuring the synchronous operation of highly-enticing light systems of the six existing bridges and the both banks of the rivers in a bid to create an artistic light setting at night, thus taking both locals and tourists by surprise.
Also, plans on the lighting system of the whole city, including tall buildings located along the both banks of the river will be mapped out.
The priority will be given to developing more supporting infrastructure projects such the Bach Dang - Nguyen Van Troi - Tran Hung Dao pedestrian promenade, and the development off night-time activities and services in the An Thuong Tourist Streets site.
In addition, Da Nang will mull over the launch of a yacht race on the river, and a photo contest during which tourists are stimulated to take photos of the city’s beautiful features during their stay here. Attractive travel vouchers applicable to Da Nang trips will be given out to wining entries, a move to tempt domestic and foreign travellers back to the city.

Meanwhile, relevant local agencies will provide active support for tourism business to help them boost digital transformation in its operation, build up plans for organise annual international travel fairs.
Along with that, tourism businesses should promote their mutual support and connection with one another, hereby forming a ‘strong bloc’ for development and leverage the recovery of the ‘non-smoke industry, in the complicated global pandemic.
Jointly organised by Da Nang Tourism Development Fund and the Department of Tourism, the seminar aimed to assess the negative impacts of COVID-19 crisis on tourism businesses in Da Nang and the efficiency level of response solutions taken by both the municipal government and businesses in recent times.
The event also offered an opportunity for State management agencies to have direct dialogue with tourism businesses to collect constructive recommendations and suggestions on how to drive the rebounding of the local tourism industry for the rest of this year.
