The Da Nang government has given the go-ahead to impose penalties on traffic violators on Vo Nguyen Giap, Nguyen Tat Thanh, and Truong Chinh streets based on images recorded by security cameras.  The new regulation will officially take effect on May 5.

Top priority will be given to dealing with such violations as running through yellow and red lights, travelling in the wrong lanes, and other traffic violations on these streets.

The installed smart surveillance cameras can automatically detect vehicles violating the city’s traffic rules.  Images of traffic violators, violation times and places, and the registration plates of the violating vehicles will be captured and recorded during both daytime and nighttime hours.

Relevant local agencies are publicising the new regulation amongst the general public through the mass media and through visual advertising in order to ensure local traffic safety and culture.

In addition, smart surveillance cameras have been already installed in the intersection of Truong Chinh- Le Trong Tan and the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap and Vuong Thua Vu, and they will be officially put into operation soon.
