Da Nang Police launched a traffic safety campaign in the city on Monday to ensure local traffic order and safety, especially over the forthcoming the Reunification Day (April 30) and Labour Day (May 1) holidays, and the upcoming elections of deputies to the 15^th National Assembly and all-level People's Councils for the 2021-2026 tenure. 

The two month-long campaign aims to reduce the number of road traffic accidents in the city by 10%.

Da Nang traffic police are being out across the city working proactively to target those flouting the law. They are swarming main streets to carry out random vehicle stops in a bid to detect and deal with alcohol and drug-related violations by road users. Strict punishment will be imposed traffic violations to mitigate the happening of traffic accidents in the city.

In addition, stricter penalties will be imposed on road users who exceed the speed limit, zigzag through traffic, pick up or drop off passengers at unpermitted locations, or are found to be involved in illegal motorbike racing.
