11 caught using drugs at Da Nang karaoke parlor despite ban
The Ngu Hanh Son District authorities in Da Nang on Monday caught red-handed a karaoke parlor at 152 Le Van Hien violating a ban on all non-essential services amid COVID-19 threats.
At around 2:00am on Monday, through their surprise inspection, the district's police found a total of 11 people consisting of managers, employees, and customers enjoying singing in room No 101 at the above-mentioned karaoke parlor.
Through quick tests, 7 out of the 11 violators were confirmed positive for drugs. One of them was caught illegally storing drugs.
The karaoke parlor is expected to have its operation permit withdrawn. All of the violators could face the strict level of penalties in line with the laws and be subject to COVID-19 tests soon.
The municipal government has ordered citywide closure of non-essential services since May 4 as part of the city's efforts to control COVID-19. The ban applies to the following services: bars, karaoke and massage parlors, discotheques, entertainment spots, electronic games, theaters, casinos, public internet services, pedestrian streets and night markets.
