This COVID-19 case was confirmed in a 26-year-old woman who works as a switchboard operator at a company based in the An Don Industrial Park located in An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District.

The lockdown order came into effect on early May 12 as a positive case of coronavirus and her close contacts had been detected.

Son Tra District People’s Committee Vice Chairman Huynh Van Hung said the district authorities quickly erected barriers and deployed guards to lockdown the An Don Industrial Park and its surrounding areas after the infected woman and her close contacts had identified.

As of Wednesday morning, staff of the Son Tra District Medical Centre had taken a combined throat and nose swab of close to 2,000 people who are workers at this industrial park and nearby residents to test for the virus.

Disinfectant sprays for the prevention of COVID-19 have been already conducted in this industrial park and surrounding areas.
