Contact and travel history of COVID-19 case confirmed in Da Nang on May 22

Da Nang registered one more locally transmitted COVID-19 patient on May 22 who is a close contacts of a previously confirmed positive case. The patient whose source of infection is known tested positive for the virus during his quarantine period.

The municipal Steering Committee for the COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Saturday unveiled what it has known so far about the travel and contact history of this new COVID-19 patient.

The patient is a 38-year-old police officer at the Nam Duong Ward Police at 193 Hoang Dieu. He lives with his family on Tran Phu Street, Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District.

On May 6, the patient came into close contact with a man who later tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on May 11.

On May 7, from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, the patient went to Le Lai Primary School. At about 11:30am, he went to Tran Thuc Nhan Street and then the Da Nang International Airport.

On May 8, in the evening, the man participated in city patrols with militia, civil defence and street guard forces.

On May 9, the man only stayed at home.

On May 10, in the morning, the man jointed forces with militia and urban management teams to inspect the public compliance with COVID-19 prevention and control rules. In the afternoon, he was on duty alone at the Tan Thanh cultural house at K266/H14/29 Hoang Dieu.

On May 11, the man went to work at the Nam Duong Ward Police and then returned home after work.

On May 12 and 13, the man and some of his colleagues were put under quarantine right at his office after a male citizen with whom they had contacted previously tested positive for the virus.

On May 14, the man was allowed to self-quarantine at home on Tran Phu Street without contacting anyone in his family.

On May 15, at 7:30 am, the man went to the Sao Nam Junior High School on Le Hong Phong Street to have his swab samples taken for SARS-CoV-2 testing. He then tested negative for the virus for the first time.

From May 16 to 20, the man continued his self-quarantine at home.

On May 22, he tested positive for the virus via the Realtime RT-PCR method as confirmed by the Da Nang Centre for Disease Control.

Anyone who accidentally came to the places where the infected patient had visited whilst they were infectious should immediately contact medical centres in their locales for timely assistance.
