Contact and travel history of COVID-19 case confirmed in Da Nang on May 23

Da Nang registered one more locally transmitted COVID-19 patient on May 23 who is a close contact of a previously confirmed positive case. The patient whose source of infection is known tested positive for the virus during her quarantine period.

The municipal Steering Committee for the COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Sunday unveiled what it has known so far about the travel and contact history of this new COVID-19 patient.

The patient is a 16-year-old senior high school pupil living on Thanh Tan Street, residential quarter No 21, Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District.

On May 7, the girl went to register for an apprenticeship at the Continuing Education Centre at 725 Tran Cao Van, Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District, then went home and didn't go anywhere.

From May 8 to 10, she mainly stayed at home, sometimes went to a gym with donning a face mask and had no contact with anyone. From 5:00 pm. to 6:00 pm, she rode a motorbike around some of the city’s corners just for relaxation and returned home.

From May 11 to 14, she mainly stayed at home, and neither went anywhere nor interacted with anyone.

On May 15, at 11:00am, she went to her aunt's house but did not see her.

On May 16, at around 8:00am, she made a medical declaration at the Thanh Khe Dong Medical Station, and then went to the Thanh Khe District Medical Center for having her swab samples collected for COVID-19 testing.

On the same day, she tested negative for the virus for the first time via the Realtime RT-PCR method conducted by the Da Nang Centre for Disease Control (Da Nang CDC).

At 9:20am, the patient went to the BigC to buy lemons and shrimp on the second floor, and then went straight home.

The girl was rushed for quarantine at 122 Hoang Minh Thao Street, Lien Chieu District at 8:00pm on the same day following her biological mother’s positive test result.

On May 17, at the concentrated quarantine site, she tested negative for the virus for the second time via the Realtime RT-PCR method.

From May 18 to 21, she was put under quarantine at the 122 Hoang Minh Thao facility,

On May 22, she had her samples collected for a third Realtime RT-PCR test for the virus via the Realtime RT-PCR. Finally, the result came back positive later.

Anyone who accidentally came to the places where the infected patient had visited whilst they were infectious should immediately contact medical centres in their locales for timely assistance.
