Da Nang-based karaoke parlor fined VND 20 million for violating COVID restrictions

The Lien Chieu District authorities in Da Nang have imposed VND 20 million in fines on the owner of the Holiday karaoke parlor located at 57 Ngo Van So, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward for violating ban on all non-essential services amid COVID-19 threats.

On May 6, through their surprise inspection of the Holiday karaoke parlor, the district's functional forces caught red-handed Room No. 202 still serving a group of guests. The owner of this entertainment setting then admitted to his violation.

The Da Nang government has ordered citywide closure of non-essential services as of on May 4 as part of the city's efforts to control COVID-19. The ban applies to the following services: bars, karaoke and massage parlors, discotheques, entertainment spots, electronic games, theaters, casinos, public internet services, pedestrian streets and night markets 

According to Colonel Nguyen Van Hoa, Chief of Lien Chieu District Police, from April 29 to May 15, police discovered and levied VND 30 million in fines on 67 cases of violations across the district, including breaking social distancing and face mask rules.
