Da Nang CDC affirms no evidence of three COVID-19 patients in HCMC linked to Da Nang
There is no evidence three COVID-19 confirmed patients in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) related to Da Nang, Doctor Ton That Thanh, Director of the Da Nang Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed on Friday afternoon.
The three infected women in a mother and daughter relationship were reported in HCMC on May 20, and they have become the 4780th , 4781st and 4782nd COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam. They have Banh Canh O Thanh (Miss Thanh thick rice-noodle soup) stores at two locations in HCMC, one in 287/5 and the other in 289, both on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, Ward 5, District 3.
On May 21, misinformation about viral transmission from one member of this family to others in her family, and catching COVID-19 in Da Nang when visiting here in late April was spread in social media platforms and published in some printed newspapers.
Immediately, Da Nang CDC worked with its counterpart in HCMC to conduct investigations of the three infected women. The results showed that all of them did not arrive in Da Nang at that time.
“There was a daughter in this family who visited Da Nang on the 10th day of the first lunar month. However, she received a COVID-19 negative test result from the HCMC CDC. Hence, it can be confirmed that the three cases of COVID-19 in HCM are not linked to Da Nang," affirmed Dr. Thanh.
