Da Nang doctors successfully perform C-section on pregnant woman in sealed-off residential setting
Doctors from the Son Tra District Medical Centre in Da Nang have successfully performed an emergency cesarean section on a 20-year-old pregnant woman, in a residential setting under lockdown.

At 6:15am on Tuesday, this medical centre received a SOS message about an emergency case in which the pregnant woman living in the 12T3 apartment building, Bui Duong Lich Street, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District, showed signs of labour.
This building has been put under lockdown over its links to a COVID-19 patient since May 6.
On May 7, the would-be mother and other residents in the apartment building had their nose swab samples collected for COVID-19 testing, and fortunately, tests on all of them have come back negative for the virus.
Initially, the emergency team of the medical center intended to set up a makeshift operation room inside the building for cesarean section. However, fully aware of the fact that this woman was facing many risks due to her previous caesarean section conducted two years ago, the team decided to rush her to the medical centre for treatment, doctor Pham Hong Nam, its director said.
At 6:30am, a baby boy weighing 2.6 kg was successfully delivered by cesarean section.
For the time being, the woman and her child are in a stable condition. The duo will be tested for the virus in the coming time.
