Da Nang lifts lockdown on New Phuong Dong Club as COVID-19 cluster under control
A lockdown has been lifted from Dong Da Street-based New Phuong Dong Club, previously one of Da Nang’s COVID-19 hotspots, and neighbouring residential areas in Thuan Phuoc and Thach Thang wards in Hai Chau District after 21 days under lockdown.
More than 300 people, including more than 60 families in residential settings No 35 and 36 in Thuan Phuoc Ward, have completed a 21-day quarantine period as prescribed. |
Previously, the Hai Chau District government sealed off the New Phuong Dong Club and its surrounding areas at 00:00am on May 6 after many of the emerging COVID-19 cases at the time were traced back to these sites.
Till date more than 300 people, including more than 60 families in residential quarters No 35 and 36 in Thuan Phuoc Ward, have tested negative for COVID-19 for three times. All of them have completed a 21-day quarantine period as prescribed.
According to Hai Chau District People's Committee Vice Chairman Truong Thanh Dung, despite the lifting of lockdown, these aforementioned sites must still strictly adhere to COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
On this occasion, COVID-19 task forces in residential settings No 35 and 36 were honoured by the Thuan Phuoc Ward authorities for their active engagement in coronavirus prevention and control missions.
For the time being, in Hai Chau District, two sites are still under lockdown, namely the F.Home apartment building on Ly Thuong Kiet Street and the 81 Hoang Dieu facility.
