Da Nang sends 10 medical workers to help Bac Giang to tackle COVID-19

The Da Nang Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on Sunday afternoon held a farewell ceremony for 10 medical workers of the Da Nang General Hospital who will go to the northern province of Bac Giang, the worst-hit locality in Viet Nam, to help it stem a resurgence of coronavirus infections.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang acknowledged and highlighted the admirable spirit of these medical workers to help the worst-hit locality amid these challenging times.

“We recognised and valued the contribution and support of Bac Giang Province for Da Nang during the coronavirus waves in 2020. Our medical volunteers demonstrate social responsibility to help Bac Giang get through these difficult times. On behalf of the city leaders, I would like to thank you all. I suggest the local health officials to create the best conditions for our dispatched medical workers to fullfill their assigned task”, said Mr Quang.

Dr. Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Director of the municipal Department of Health said “ Da  Nang’s dispatched medical workers are 10 experienced doctors and nurses from intensive care unit of the Da Nang General Hospital. They will work at Bac Giang- based Psychiatric Hospital where critically ill patients with Covid-19 are being treated. Their trip to Viet Nam’s worst-hit locality can take a long time and their return date is not known. We hope that our dispatched medical workers will provide their best possible support for Bac Giang Province to sucessfully mange the pandemic".
