The Dong Da Market has been allowed to reopen from 0am, today, May 9, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade announced on Saturday evening.

This came as tests on all stall holders and personnel staffing at this market had come back negative for COVID-19.

The Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade is urging the Dong Market Management Board to tighten measures to control COVID-19 in this place and monitor the practice of the city’s odd/even date entry restrictions here in order to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus in this place.

Earlier on on Friday morning, the Hai Chau District authorities forced to temporarily close Dong Da traditional market from 0am on May 7, as a COVID-19 case had frequently gone to this market to buy things for her family’s daily needs.

The district authorities have identified this place as potentially being at high risk of COVID-19, and imposed a temporary close order on this place.

Medical workers collected a combined throat and nose swab of all stall holders at this market to test for COVID-19 on Friday morning.

Disinfectant sprays for the prevention of COVID-19 have been already conducted in this market and surrounding areas.
