First COVID-19 patient in Da Nang recovers, discharged from hospital today
One of the 132 COVID-19 patients, including imported cases, being treated for the novel coronavirus in Da Nang was discharged from the Lung Hospital on Friday morning after he had tested negative for the virus thrice. The discharged patient is the first to be given the all-clear of the virus so far in the city since it saw a new wave of COVID-19 infections in early May.

The completed-cured patient is a 28 year-old man, a resident of Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province. He works as a spa ticket seller at the Phu An Hotel on December 2 Street, Hai Chau District, Da Nang.
On the afternoon of May 2, the man developed a fever and suffered fatigue. In the evening, he came to the Hoan My Da Nang Hospital, located on Nguyen Van Linh Street for checkups. He then tested positive for the virus. He has become the 2,982nd COVID-19 patient in Viet Nam.
The man has received treatment at the Lung Hospital since May 3.
The man have made a full recovery following the Lung Hospital treatment, and tests on him have come back negative for the virus thrice on May 13, 16 and 18, said the hospital’s doctors.
The man is no longer contagious, the doctors said.
After leaving hospital, the man is being placed under quarantine in the Hai Chau District Medical Centre for 14 days following the Health Ministry’s guidelines
Doctor Le Thanh Phuc, the Director of the Da Nang Lung Hospital, said that 86 locally transmitted cases and 46 imported ones are being treated for COVID-19 in the hospital. In which, 3 critically ill patients are requiring mechanical ventilation and dialysis.
