Scorching heat to dominate Da Nang, central localities as mercury could reach 40 degree Celsius
The next days are expected to see high temperatures and dry weather grip many parts of Central Viet Nam from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai, including Da Nang, according to projections by the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting
The unpleasant weather conditions were caused by the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region, soaring heatwave conditions, said regional forecasters.
Today, May 29, as the maximum temperature could hit over 37 degree Celsius in some parts in Central Viet Nam. The lowest humidity level in these localities will be between 48% and 60%. In Da Nang, the highest mercury is projected to reach 36 degree Celsius.
However, in the next three days, the heat wave is likely to be more identified with temperature climbing to the highest of 40 degree Celsius.
At noon and in the afternoon, there is a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by dangerous weather phenomena such as lightning and strong gusts, especially in mountainous areas.
