Travel and contact history of two COVID-19 patients confirmed in Da Nang on May 18
Da Nang registered two locally transmitted cases on Tuesday, thus bringing the city’s total cases to 144 since May 3 when the first community infection was reported, said the municipal Department of Health.
The municipal Steering Committee for the COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Thursday evening unveiled what it has known so far about the travel and contact history of the two COVID-19 patients confirmed on Tuesday.
One is a 56-year-old tofu selling vendor residing in Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District. She is a close contact of her husband and children who were infected with the virus.
From May 4 to 10, the woman sold tofu near her residence and stayed at home to take care of her sick husband. On May 8 alone, the patient attended a death anniversary at 113 Nguyen Van Sieu, An Hai Tay Ward, Son Tra District.
On May 11, following her daughter’ positive test, the woman and other family members were put under quarantine at the dormitory of the College of Food Industry on Le Huu Trac Street, An Hai Dong Ward, Son Tra District.
On May 12, the woman tested negative for the virus once via Realtime RT-PCR method by the Da Nang Centre for Disease Control.
On May 14, after tests on her husband turned positive for the virus, and transferred to the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre for treatment, she asked for permission to be admitted to a quarantine area at this medical facility.
On May 16, the woman displayed symptoms such as fever and cough, which forced her to have her nasal swab samples for COVID-19 testing. One day later, her test returned positive for the virus.
The other is a 50-year-old woman residing in Man Thai Ward, Son Tra District. She is the Director of Minh Tien Container Transport Service Co., Ltd based in Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District. Previously, the driver of a container vehicle tested positive on May 12 during his quarantine period.
On May 12 and 13, the woman only stayed at work and home and had no interactions with others but her colleagues in the company. She went shopping at the Tung grocery on Phung Ba Chu Street in front of Man Thai Market.
On May 14, at around 8:00am, she went to the filling station No 20 on Ngo Quyen Street. At 3:30pm, the woman went to the Vietcombank Son Tra at 445 Ngo Quyen, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District. Here, she contacted a police officer and an employee whose named remain unknown.
On May 15, she ran a fever accompanied with cough.
On May 16, on the way to the company, at around 8:00am, she went to the Man Thai Ward Medical Station to declare her health problems.
On May 17, at 7:00am, she visited the Ba Tam Quang noodle store on Le Boi Street, Son Tra District, and then went to the Son Tra District Medical Centre for having her swab samples collected for SARS-CoV-2 testing. Her test came back positive for the virus.
Anyone who accidentally came to the places where the two infected patients had visited whilst they were infectious should immediately contact medical centres in their locales for timely assistance.
