Widespread heatwave continues to affect Central Viet Nam
The Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting on Thursday said that due to the effects of the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region, soaring heatwave conditions are likely to prevail the central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai today, May 21, as the maximum temperature could hit over 38 degree Celsius in some parts. Sweltering temperatures of 36 and 38 degree Celsius will be common across parts of the five provinces. The lowest humidity level in these localities will be between 45% and 55%

In Da Nang, today will see mostly sunny skies in the districts of Hoa Vang, Cam Le, Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe, Hai Chau, with high temperatures between 25 and 35 degree Celsius. In addition, temperatures of 26 and 33 degree Celsius will be common in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son Districts. Tonight will be nice and clear with no chance of rain
There are further warnings of potential thunderstorms in some parts of Da Nang in late afternoon and evening.
Hot weather will linger in Central Viet Nam, including Da Nang, most of the next 2-3 days with temperatures climbing to 35 and 38 degree Celsius.
After a brief cool-down on the following day, high temperatures will then come back in Central Viet Nam, including Da Nang. The hot conditions are expected to persist over a widespread area of Central Viet Nam for at least several days.
