All contacts of infected caretaker at Da Nang General Hospital test negative for COVID-19

All close contacts of a caretaker contracting COVID-19 at the Da Nang General Hospital tested negative for COVID-19, doctor Ton That Thach, the Director of the city's Centre for Disease Control (CDC Da Nang) said on Wednesday morning.

The 32-year-old caregiver residing in Dien Ban Town, neighbouring Quang Nam Province who had previously been permitted to take care of his seriously ill father in the Department of Endocrinology and Nephrology of the Da Nang General Hospital tested positive for the deadly virus on Tuesday.

The infected man has already been transfered to the Da Nang Lung Hospital for treatment. Some internal at-risk areas at the Da Nang Hospital have been sealed off to prevent the further spread of the virus.

Till date, 21 primary close contacts at the Da Nang General Hospital, 8 others residing at 258/2 Le Duan in Thanh Khe District and 328 Doan Khue in Ngu Hanh Son District tested negative for the virus. Besides, 12 secondary close contacts have also been confirmed to be free from the virus.

“We are still continuing to track down more close contacts of the confirmed COVID-19 case”, said doctor Thanh.
