Da Nang detects one more COVID-19 case on June 2
On Wednesday, June 2, Da Nang registered one more locally transmitted COVID-19 patient who was a close contact of a positive case previously reported. The 72-year-old female resident in Son Tra District tested positive for the virus during her mandatory quarantine at a concentrated site which started in mid-May.
On May 15, the senior woman and other family members started their compulsory quarantine in the Ngo Gia Tu Primary School in Son Tra District after her son-in-law had tested positive for COVID-19. Here, she shared a room with her daughter-in-law and grandchild who were confirmed to have contracted the virus later.
On the same day, she tested negative for the virus for the first time.
From May 16 to 22, she remained under quarantine at the Ngo Gia Tu Primary School.
On May 23, her test result came back negative for the virus for the second time.
From May 24 to 29, she only stayed at the aforementioned designated quarantine site.
On May 30, she had her nasal swab sample taken for the third test after one of her roommates in the quarantine site had been declared to have been infected with the virus. However, once again, her test result returned negative for the virus. On the same day, she was taken to the Riverside Hotel for further quarantine.
On June 1, she showed symptoms of cough and fever, which forced her to be subject to the fourth test for COVID-19, and finally, she was then confirmed to have caught the virus on June 2.
