Da Nang People's Council Vice Chairman Le Minh Trung and municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh on Tuesday afternoon co-chaired a meeting to set out new guidance on the safety measures and mandatory protocols for all to curb the spread of the virus in the new normal after restrictions in the city began relaxing today, June 6.

Vice Chairman Trung emphasised that Da Nang has recorded 21 days without local transmission that is very important to Da Nang to lift restrictions on certain essential activities in a bid to meet the desire and aspiration of the public across the city after a lengthy battle with COVID-19.

Mr Trung stressed the need for relevant agencies to set out the crucial safety measures for everyone across the city to follow at all times after the municipal government began relaxing Covid-19 restrictions to reopen certain essential services at 0am today, June 9.

“From June 9, people in Da Nang will see restrictions start to lift on swimming at beaches, seated food and drink services, and “non-contact sports” meaning sports where participants have no close contact with any other individual while participating in the sport. However, certain activities have been allowed and re-opened with some restrictions. Therefore, relevant agencies must put in place precautionary measures for the people and businesses to contain the COVID-19 spread.  Now is the time to take up the prime responsibility of keeping ourselves safe and also ensure that others follow suit in terms of staying safe and alert.”, remarked municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh

Mr Minh also asked health officials to create an action plan for periodic COVID-19 testing of residents and employees in businesses at regular intervals which include details on test dates, fees and locations to meet their requirements for screening or diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2.
