Additional one member of an organised crime gang, named Le Thi Thanh Loc, 29, a native of Ha Tinh Province, residing in An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District, at noon on Wednesday, was detained in police custody for assisting the illegal immigration into Viet Nam.
Loc is found guilty after police officers have collected evidence to prove that Loc is charged with engaged in facilitating many foreign nationals to illegally enter Viet Nam under the guise of foreign experts amid the complex developments of COVID -19.
Loc colluded with Jiang Fei, the owner of Boviet Vietnam Investment Management Company, and Le Thi Kim Anh, 42, from Lam Dong Province, who was placed in a director position in this company, to assist many foreign nationals to illegally enter Viet Nam under the guise of foreign experts.
On June 7, officers arrested Le Thi Kim Anh and Jiang Fei.
They have been charged with assisting illegal entry into Viet Nam under the guise of foreign experts.
They will face court on charges under the Criminal Offences Act in Viet Nam.
During the investigation, Da Nang police have found that Le Thi Kim Anh had made the acquaintance of many Chinese nationals, including Jiang Fei, while working in Taiwan as a foreign worker.
After returning to Viet Nam, Anh acted as a legal representative to set up Boviet Vietnam Investment Management Company Limited. She was placed in a director position with a monthly salary of VND 12 million. She was then sent to work in the Da Nang branch of this company.
Since September 2019, this company started operating but it had no headquarters and no business plan. In March 2021, Jiang Fei colluded with Anh to take advantage of her registered business name to assist his friend named Wang Xu from China to illegally enter Viet Nam, and Da Nang in particular, under the guise of a foreign expert.
In fact, Wang Xu is not a foreign expert or investor who is included in Viet Nam government-approved list of foreign nationals to give priority for entering the country amid the complex developments of COVID-19 in the world. He intented to work with Jiang Fei in Viet Nam instead of doing a job at Anh’s company that sponsor him to work for.
Anh asked for help from an immigration service in Da Nang to facilitate Wang Xu to illegally enter Da Nang at a cost of VND more than 60 million.
Currently, the Police Investigation Agency under the Da Nang Police Department is conducting investigations into immigration fraud rings that assisted many illegal Chinese entries into Viet Nam under the guise of foreign experts or investors, but these illegal immigrants engaged in organised criminal activities linked to gambling on the internet.
Da Nang police are urging businesses, organisations and individuals to attend a police station voluntarily to answer questions about their offences of assisting illegal entry into Viet Nam soon as possible to get leniency in sentencing.
