Fierce heat continues to rage Da Nang for some days
Today, June 28, the heat wave is showing no signs of subsiding in Da Nang as its mercury remains as high as 39 degree Celsius, even higher in some of its parts. However, the real-feel temperature is even higher during the daytime, Viet Nam's National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said in its latest bulletin.
The stifling heat forces the people in Da Nang to sweat profusely and struggle to relieve its undesirable effects.
The unpleasant weather pattern, which is predicted to last for one week till June 21, is caused by the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region, soaring heatwave conditions.
From June 30 into July 3, Da Nang is projected to witness sunny days with the highs of 37 - 38 degrees Celsius.
From July 4 into 7, the baking heat is forecast to downgrade its intensity a bit with the highest temperature hovering at 36 degrees Celsius.
Residents are advised against going outside if not necessary.
Road users are seen cover almost entirely from head to toe in combinations of helmets, sunglasses, facemasks, long sleeves, gloves, long pants, and socks, and a “covering dress”, a garment akin to a kitchen apron that covers women’s legs to limit their exposure to burning sunshine, all of which leave no inch of their bodies uncovered.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has warned of high risks of fire and explosion at local residential areas and forests due to the hot and dry weather.
