Restaurants, cafes operate takeaways and beaches closed to swimmers amid spike in cases in Da Nang
Restaurants and coffee shops across Da Nang closed their doors to sit-in customers at midday on June 20 under stricter COVID-19 restrictions following the government’s announcement to re-impose a number of COVID-19 restrictions amid a resurgence in coronavirus infections.
Functional forces have put in place temporary bathing prohibition warning notices at beaches until further notice.

Mr. Le Tien, the owner of the Xu coffee shop on Phan Tu Street, Ngu Hanh Son District said he is willing to comply with new regulations to only operate a collection or take-away service in an attempt to join the government’s efforts to contain the spread of the virus.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, the owner of the Banh Cuon (Vietnamese Steamed Rice Rolls) Shop on Thu Khoa Huan Street, Son Tra District said I had cut the ingredients for Banh Cuon in half in the evening of June 19 after hearing the announcement from the government on stricter COVID restrictions for Da Nang to prevent the spread of the virus.
Eateries and cafes saw a few sit-in customers in the morning of June 20 as people already adhered to new rules, Ms Huong added.
Many food shops have a marked designated ourdoor waiting area for customers to ensure a safe distance between the sellers and customers. In addition, some shippers also said that there have been a significant increase in ordering food with food-delivery apps since 11 a.m on Sunday.
Also in the morning of June 20, ‘Advice against bathing’ notices were already been erected at beaches along such coastal streets as Vo Nguyen Giap, Hoang Sa, Nguyen Tat Thanh.
Bathing sites and parking areas at beaches are also closing with notifications of temporary service closures until further notice.
