Tightening checks at entrance points to Da Nang
In his remarks at a meeting on Monday afternoon with representatives of the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet highlighted the importance of tightening checks at entrance points to Da Nang and enforcing COVID-19 rules on all arrivals and people across the city in effectively managing the COVID-19 outbreak.

Da Nang has taken drastic measures to keep the COVID-19 situation under control. The special attention is being paid to conducting COVID-19 related stop checks on vehicles entering the city and all arrivals in order to keep the coronavirus out of the city.
In addition, the city has taken action to complete its mass testing programme. There is an increasing number of COVID-19 recoveries and those who have already completed their mandatory quarantine period in Da Nang.
Deputy Secretary Triet warned the city remains on high alert amid the complex developments of COVID-19 in the country, and urged district authorities and relevant agencies to stay in compliance with guidelines for infection prevention and control set by the national and municipal governments
“The focus must be paid on tightening monitoring of health declaration requirements for workers in industrial parks and all arrivals in the city. In particular, the heed must be given to increasing the role of the community COVID-19 task force in an attempt to prevent the spread of the virus" said Mr Triet.
Deputy Secretary Triet remarked that the socio-economic disruption caused by the pandemic has had devastating effects on people and businesses in the city, and timely and practical support shoud be provided for affected businesses.
Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh asked relevant agencies to raise public awareness of prevention measures to protect themselves and others from coronavirus, and take action to ensure good practice of the 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health among every one across the city.
“The focus should be paid on encouraging more people to sign up as volunteers to support task force in checkpoints, developing a plan to prepare for the upcoming high school graduation examinations, as well as creating COVID-19 testing plan for all personnel staffing at the exam venues.”, said Chairman Chinh.
Currently, nine imported cases and sixty-seven locally transmitted are being treated for COVID-19 at the Da Nang Lung Hospital. In addition, 58 cases are under treatment at the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre.
Overall, 40 of the total cases have tested negative for the virus once, and tests on 23 others have came back negative twice.
