Tightening monitoring of arrivals from COVID-19 hit areas
In his address to a meeting on Tuesday afternoon with representatives of the Da Nang Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh urged relevant agencies to tighten monitoring of arrivals and returnees from the epidemic-hit areas.

Da Nang has undergone 14 straight days of no community transmitted COVID-19 cases.
Chairman Chinh highlighted huge efforts by the Da Nang government, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the entire political system to bring the COVID-19 situation under control effecitively.
Mr Chinh urged medical workers to put forth their greatest effort and care to help COVID-19 patients make a full recovery from the illness, as well as work with district authorities to complete the city’s mass testing programme for families as soon as possible.
The Department of Information and Communications was asked to work closely with the Office of the municipal People's Committee to design a website to display guidelines for infection prevention and control released by the Da Nang government and the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in an attempt to keep the public informed about the city’s recommendations to follow.
“The focus should be enforcing COVID-19 rules on arrivals and returnees from the affected areas. We all must remain vigilant while the COVID-19 pandemic continues in the country. The heed must been given to enforcing regulations to impose strictest penalities for non – compliance with the city’s COVID-19 rules.", Chairman Chinh directed.
There were no new patients admitted in the last 24 hours in Da Nang. Since the new wave of Covid-19 emerged in the city, a combined total of 157 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported.
Till date, 41 of the total cases have been fully recovered from the illness after treatment, and they are eligible for discharge.
The number of the city’s COVID-19 hotspots have been reduced from 100 to 34.
The task force staffing checkpoints at entrance points to Da Nang on May 31conducted COVID-19 related stop checks on 6,650 vehicles entering the city with more than 8,740 passengers onboard, during which, 3 vehilces were denied entry into the city, 42 self-isolation cases were found, one person got SARS-CoV-2 testing order.
Due to the national government’s restrictions on travel from the epidemic-hit areas, Da Nang has seen a low number of air and rail passenger arrivals. Tourist sites in the city are temporarily closed, and a few number of transport vehicles are operating.
The transport operators in the city must make a commitment to comply with the city’s COVID-19 rules to prevent the spread of the virus.
