Tightening oversight of people and vehicles arriving in Da Nang
In his remarks at a meeting on Thursday afternoon, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highlighed great work of functional forces at entrance points to the city. Mr Minh also urged them to tighten surveillance of people and vehicles arriving in the city, especially from areas affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, in a bid to stop new arrivals from bringing the deadly pathogen into the city.

The city leader remarked that the majority of the people in Da Nang were seen sticking by the city’s new rules when swimming at beaches. In addition, drink and food establishments across the city have already made commitment to strictly comply with infection prevention and control measures.
“Twelve taskforce teams have been set up and deployed across the city to enforce regulations on residents for non-compliance with the 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health, especially face mask rules at beaches”, Mr Minh said.
Vice Chairman Minh demanded functional forces to take any action against those for breaking new COVID-19 rules, especially the gatherings restrictions at beaches.
The task force staffing checkpoints at entrance points to Da Nang on Thurday conducted COVID-19 related stop checks on nearly 9,200 vehicles entering the city, during which, 5 vehilces were denied entry into the city, and nearly 17,500 people, including 193 foreigners, had their body temperature measured and were required to declare their health status.
Police have been deployed to staff at checkpoints at the foot of Hai Van Pass in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, and at the end of Mai Dang Chon Street in Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh District.
Da Nang on Thursday reported no new confirmed case of coronavirus in a 24-hour period, and the ciy has gone 23 days without local transmission.
The total number of active cases in Da Nang remained at 158, all in managed isolation.
As of June 10, 63 people had been placed under quarantine in designated facilities while 395 arrivals from affected areas had been self- isolated at home.
Eleven more coronavirus patients were discharged from the Da Nang Lung Hospital and the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre on Thursday following their three testing negative results.
They are no longer contagious and pose no risk to the public.
Local healthcare workers will put in place close monitoring of the recoveries during their14-day self- quarantine period at their places of residence after discharge following the Ministry of Health's guidelines.
Till date, 119 of the total cases have been fully recovered from the illness after treatment, and they are eligible for discharge. Currently, 39 people are being treated for COVID-19 at Da Nang’s hospitals.
According to data released by the muncipal Steering for COVID-19 Prevention and Control at 1pm on June 10, nearly 503,000 smartphone users in Da Nang installed and used Bluezone, a locally-developed app that helps determine if a person has come in contact with a COVID-19 patient.
Between May 5 and June 10, fines of around VND 1.84 billion had been imposed on 633 people for breaking the city’s COVID-19 rules.
