Police in Nam Khanh Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang, on Friday afternoon, made proposals to the district authorities to impose VND 166 million in fines on 10 people for non-compliance with COVID-19 regulations.

Police officers saw these people flouting the rules — not social distancing, and not wearing a mask while on patrol on Nguyen Khuyen Street, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, at 4pm on May 11. These people were caught red-handed in playing bingo games, and they admitted their offences to officers after being invited into the ward police station.

In addition, these offenders will face strict penalties for illegal gambling.

Previously, authorities in Lien Chieu District had imposed VND 225 million VND in fines on 15 people for breaching COVID rules. They had been caught  of red-handed in gathering to watch cockfights in Hoa Hiep Nam ward.
